My work career began when I was fourteen. My career has included an eclectic assortment of positions: library assistant; teacher's assistant; general secretary; word processing; computer troubleshooting; translations in English, Spanish, French and German; legal secretary; restaurant manager/assistant - this is what I can remember, for now. I have always been curious when it comes to education. My interests include movies, literature, music (of all sorts), sports, architecture, art, languages, cultures, travel, psychology, and who knows what else?! As the eldest of five children, I was the tutor for the rest. Our parents were immigrants from an impoverished background - a background which denied them the opportunity to attend school. So, I learned how to teach without giving away answers. I was also my siblings' caretaker. When they were little, the last two called me Mama. By the time I was seventeen, I knew much more about raising children than Read more many parental adults. I was never lucky enough to have my own children. And, I do love children - not an idealized version of a child, but real, flesh and bone children. I also like people very much. My background developed me into a helper: I care for and like to help others wherever I am. That's about it - at least as much as I can recall right now. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
