My name is Monica and I’ve always loved caring for children. I’ve cared children from newborns to teens and everything in between. I have a background in Graphic Communication and played the violin. I love to incorporate music and art to help kids use their imagination! I think outside time is really important and make sure children get their energy out in the playground or backyard. I’m also an amazing cook and can have healthy and nutritious meals whipped up. I’ve often been called a big sister instead of a babysitter which I have always taken pride in.

Hi, I'm Veronika and I'd love to be your babysitter! I have really discovered my love for children in the past few years, in which I have been volunteer working at a language learning school. I've worked in preschool/kindergarten, first and second grade classes for 2 years, and have been directly responsible for my students' safety and wellbeing, taking care of their scratches and bruises, supervising them in parking lot areas, taking them to the restroom, running games with them, helping them with their schoolwork, and even teaching lessons when the teacher was occupied. Through this I learned I have a very strong protection instinct towards all children (my priority is always their safety), am good at comforting children and distracting them from anything that may cause them to be sad, and have developed a sixth sense - I can literally feel it in my bones when a child is about to do something that can get them hurt- the number of children I have snatched up running with scissors in every corner of my school is too many to count. I also just graduated high school with honors and a 4.5 GPA and am now a microbiology student here at Cal Poly and would absolutely love to help your kids with any schoolwork/extracurricular learning they may have and am comfortable teaching any curriculum from K-8th grade. I also don't have a problem with kids with the sniffles, so if little Timmy caught a stomach bug the night of your important conference (because of course he has), I have no problem taking care of him and any extra needs he may have. I look forward to meeting you and your children!

I have been working with children for the past 6 years. Most recently, I was a preschool teacher from 2022-2025. During that time, I worked with various age groups and earned my Child Development Associate Accreditation. Additionally,, I taught computer coding for elementary aged students for 2 years and was a nanny for a family with an 8 year old girl. Teaching in schools helped me develop with my skills in early education. I love to have fun and make kids feel comfortable with approaching new skills and situations. My passion is helping kids grow their interests and explore the world around them in a way that is interesting and fun for each individual kid, whether that’s as a nanny, babysitter, or in the classroom.

I am 25 and have grown up with child care experience. I am the oldest of seven children, the youngest of whom is a four-year old boy. Growing up, I took care of my siblings while my mom worked jobs to support us. I highly respect a busy working mother. My siblings were of all ages and I learned skills of adaptability, patience, good judgement, and self-motivation. I helped take care of the house and entertained my siblings when we weren’t in school. I was highly motivated in high school and I also played tennis! I graduated from CSU-Monterey Bay in California with a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Education. I am very passionate about getting myself and young people outside and interested in science and the natural sciences particularly. I learned how to teach students using experience-based learning and open-ended questions. While in undergraduate school and after graduation I taught in a before (6-10am) and after school program (2-7pm) for children of people who work in agriculture for four years. I worked alone with ~10 kids with a range of ages 5-12 in a class. I had to use strong problem skills, creative quick thinking, and self-management to support their success academically, emotionally, and socially. My style is balancing age appropriate conversation and treating them as adults/their own individual person. I believe in inspiring self-responsibility and motivation through incentives and having a positive relationship with the child while also communicating strengths or needs for support with the parent(s). I created daily activities myself or asked the kids to choose a range of activities (puzzles, coloring, computer school games, homework help, crafts, card games), encouraged outside activities (basketball, versions of tag, laying in the grass listening to music) and participated in general conversation with kids of all ages. Pre-COVID19 I brought them to outdoor field trips and nature walks. During the pandemic my main goal was to keep them emotionally regulated and as motivated in school as possible. Other skills that are worth noting for supporting child success is I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I was CPR certified but will need to renew it as it expired this year. I also have a clean driving record but I have moved from California and will need to get a New York Driving License. Thank you, Jasmin Gonzalez
