Working with individuals, especially children,has always been something I have been passionate about and enjoy. I believe that as we are older we should continue to care for the following generation. Not only that, but children may educate us as well. Interaction with children is what I enjoy the most. I believe my outgoing personality and charisma is a contributing factor. I believe that working with children is more than a job - it's a part of our lives. These children begin to be part of our everyday lives. They begin to be our kids. The mission and values to be a Nanny/Sitter intrigue me. Although I may have little work experience, I have contributed skills and qualifications such as my CPR/ First Aid Infant/ Child & Adult certification through my years of volunteering with children to fulfill the expectations. Last year, I was fortunate to volunteer at a local Read more San José school, Del Mar High School. Through this, I was able to have one-on-one sessions with high school students from ages 14 to 18 trying to get into college. In my hometown, I had a similar experience as well. I was a tutor for the youth at a local Boy’s and Girls club for three years. It was this experience that allowed me to practice my mentor and role-modeling skills and have a sense of managing a classroom setting. For my past employment, I worked at Mulligan’s Family Fun Center. I was the occasional Water Park lead and Pool Attendant. As I would aid disabled children, I managed the water park and took the initiative of delegating jobs to help run the park properly. This experience allowed me to fulfill my leadership qualities. In addition, I am currently a Preschool Aide at Downtown Scholars Child Development Center. My current employment as a Preschool Aide allows me to supervise a classroom, educate children in entertaining ways and create lesson plans. Each day I educate myself more and more about sustaining the importance of education.
