Hello Parents! My name is Joi Prendeville and I am a college graduate in the field of social work. because of my desire to assist families in having the best quality of life possible. I have all stages of childhood development, personality and identity formation, as well as optimum support strategies of children as they develop. I am CPR and first Aid Certified and have been "live scanned", an in depth form of back ground check performed by Orange County Child and Family Services in order to intern with them. I have also completed the clearance process to volunteer at Orange Wood, a temporary home for children within the foster care system. In life, I have the experience of being the oldest of 4 children, with the youngest 2 being 10 and 11 years younger. So, I have experience with newborn to teenage long-term care. While in school, Read more I worked for a family for 3 summers while the children were from 6 months to 4 years. In the summer the boys were 2 and 4, I was a full-time live in nanny while the mother was in the hospital for several months. I have sat for children (boys and girls) from the age of 5 months old to 12 years old. During my internship with Child and Family Services, I provided care for teen age foster children transitioning toward emancipation. These children were between the ages of 15 and 18. Infants and toddlers are my favorite, but I am always fascinated with the depth I see in children between the ages of 4 to 8 as well. I am unable to have children of my own and decided that there are plenty of children in the world to contribute to and enjoy. I am a "parront" to 3 feathered children of my own. My parrots are intelligent, beautiful, and lots of fun. I volunteer at a companion bird rescue and adopted my last parrot. These creatures are sensitive, smart and live a long time, up to 60 years. It is my privilege to provide the care and stimulation they need to thrive. I truly believe that parents thrive with assistants and that children benefit from healthy and informed care givers in their life. I hope to provide parents with the support they desire as well as providing children with a fresh caregiver that truly cares as well.

Joi currently babysits for my infant son, Mason, a couple times a month. She is very natural at caregiving. Joi is patient, caring, kind and loving to Mason. Joi spends quality time teaching and interacting with my son, which is exactly what I was looking for in a nanny / sitter. Mason smiles when he sees her, which is a very good sign. Joi has an impressive background and great experience and is more than qualified for this job. If I met Joi before I met my current nanny, I would have hired her as my nanny. I highly recommend Joi, and anyone would be very lucky to have her as a nanny / sitter.
