Greetings! My name is Jane Marie Sheehan and I would love to be your babysitter. ^_^ I just wrapped up six years working in the fundraising department on behalf of some of the world's most productive nonprofits including the American Red Cross (which I am certified in adult & pediatric CPR/ AED), Save the Children, Doctors without Borders, World Society Protection of Animals, The Nature Conservancy, Child Fund and (now that I am free to say this haha) my absolute favorite group: Plan International which is the leader in child centered community development. Suffice to say that I love children and I have dedicated my life to working to improve the quality of life of children who are growing up in difficult circumstances. As much as I loved my career working with adults in the nonprofit fundraising world, the truth is, I really missed working directly with children as I Read more did when I was the Assistant Team Leader of Simmons College Jumpstart Americorps program. I worked directly with preschool aged children who were struggling with social and emotional trama. Being able to use my study of child psychology, parallel play therapy, Jumpstarts problem solving technique and my natural love of playing around/ being creative really lit me up. I would love nothing more than to bring an extra layer of education to your child's time spent under my care while still having plenty of fun. No matter the age group or temperament, I have experience working with all ages and developmental levels. Lastly, I am more than willing to take day trips to the park, zoo, pool (again, I am CPR trained and incredibly attentive), or anywhere else you believe would be a stimulating environment for your child.
