My name is Ella and I have many years of experience as a babysitter. I am a recent graduate from the University of Oregon, with a degree in International Studies and a French minor. My grade school and high school years were spent at East Bay Waldorf, then later at San Francisco Waldorf. I currently live in Oakland, California, where I spend my free time cooking, dancing, and doing yoga. In addition to babysitting, I've spent the last eight years working for Cal Blue Camp, a multi-sport camp in Berkeley. Here, I worked with typically developing children, ranging from ages 7 to 13 during the summer. My work at Blue Camp, however, has been primarily within the social skills track, where I facilitated inclusion of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder into the larger summer camp program. I have worked both one-on-one, as well as in larger groups, with children Read more on the spectrum, teaching social skills, affect regulation and problem solving. As a sitter, I love being outdoors, drawing, painting, and finding new and fun ways to create. I am constantly inspired by the creativity and imagination of children. I am deeply touched by their capacity to demonstrate compassion and understanding for one another, no matter their differences. For me, childcare is not only a job, but also an opportunity to learn from the children I'm looking after. I am passionate about discovering and nurturing the unique strengths of every child, and setting them up for success so that they themselves may feel inspired and empowered!
