Hello! My name is Joi and I am currently a full time special education teacher in Oakland. I have 10+ years of childcare experience ranging from children age four months to seventeen. I enjoy supporting young people as they learn to navigate the world. In 2017 I graduated from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education M.Ed. program and moved to the Bay are where I continued to pursue my studies. Prior to living in the Bay area I worked at Eagle Rock School and professional Development Center( Estes Park, CO) as a Health Wellness and Counseling Fellow and taught as an English Teaching Fellow in Malaysia through the Fulbright program. I received my undergraduate degree from Scripps College where I studied Sociology and Music. I am incredibly patient, flexible and enjoy working with others.
