Hi I'm Katharine! I am 18 years old. I am a UC Santa Cruz Student, born and raised in Oakland (I am home for the summer). I am extremely passionate about working with kids. Throughout my younger teenage years I volunteered at Steve and Kate's camp as a junior camp counselor. At Steve and Kate's I worked with kids ranging from 4-12, guiding them through creative and exciting activities. Following that, I was a full time nanny for my 3 year old cousin. Last summer I worked at East Bay Innovation Academy, a 6-12 school located in Oakland. I worked with all grades of middle school. At East Bay Innovation Academy, I helped both in and out of the classroom. Assisting with schoolwork and also after school care/child supervision. I am also an education, democracy, and justice major so I am involved in learning about the education system and ways Read more we can better the system for the benefit of the children. I also love being creative! I love any sort of art or creative activities including drawing, painting, puzzles, etc. I am also a ballet dancer and absolutely love being active. Working with kids is my passion and I plan on pursuing a career involving helping kids. I absolutely look forward to meeting new kids and helping them learn, grow, and have fun!
