I love working with youth! I began working with youth following a desire to create safer spaces for young people to explore who they are, experiment with different interests, and build accountable and compassionate relationships with each other in community. Since then, I have worked in after school programs, summer camps, preschools, mixed age classrooms, and have taken early childhood development and education classes through Merritt College . And now have the practiced skills to: • meet them where they’re at with their play, conversations, and queries • have honest (and developmentally appropriate) conversations about expectations, boundaries, and routines • support them with school work and other responsibilities • facilitate developmentally appropriate activities that are child centered, fun, and open ended What I enjoy about one-on-one child care is that my time with your child is personalized to who they are, your family values and practices, and slowly building a Read more relationship with your child that centers trust and respect. When I’m not working with youth I enjoy arts and crafts, gardening, and hiking around the redwoods with my dogs.
