Meet Noor

  • Comfortable with pets

Hello! I have been working with children my whole life. The second I turned 16, I became a Red Cross certified lifeguard and water safety instructor. I also coached a youth swim team and synchro team, as well as provided lessons to people of all ages and abilities for several years. For the past 4 years, I have helped manage a cooperative style dorm at Stanford University. The house, Terra, is home to 55 students who are all required to partake in caring, cleaning and cooking for the house. I cared for all the residents, which included often responding quickly to things like emergencies or mental health issues. I also have been a tutor for the past decade. During the pandemic, I served as an in-person teacher and tutor for a 6th grader in all subjects. At Stanford, I served as a tutor and mentor for first generation students at Read more the Electrical Engineering department. Most recently, I just finished a role as a teaching assistant for Stanford's famous CS 109: Intro to probability for computer scientists course. I strongly believe in care, community and teaching and am always striving to do better. I love play and I think to play IS to learn. Other Things About Me: My parents immigrated to Michigan from Lebanon. I grew up in the Detroit Metro area and moved to Oakland after completing my degree at Stanford. I studied Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Game/Interaction Design at Stanford and love to play and make games! I am the oldest of 4, the youngest being my 6 year old brother. I have a little pet bunny named Opal. I love to crochet! My youngest sibling is on the spectrum so I understand the care differences that may be needed. Your loved ones are in safe hands with me! Thank you for considering me.
