I love, love caring for young children and assisting families. I regularly care for a 15 month old and have done so since his birth. Consequently I have current knowledge re infant feeding and sleeping strategies and technologies (gadgets, toys, bottles, monitors, etc.). My most recent live-in nanny position required that I address the unique emotional needs of two elementary school children. In collaboration with parental figures, we introduced soft, consistent communication, attentive listening and positive rewards. As a result of interventions, the children became more calm, happy and focussed. These improvements were validated by their teachers and after school care-givers. Over a nine month stretch their anxieties related to sleep-time, bath time, apparel and homework diminished significantly. Additionally, bed wetting resolved (evaporated?) and the children began to enjoy nutritious new cuisine. Also, the children were delighted by the book selections that I read aloud. My sourcebook? 1001 Children's Books Read more to Read Before You Grow Up. I also love, love cooking tasty organic meals and will happily assist meal preparation for babies, preschoolers, all ages. My hobbies? I regularly study Italian and French and am progressing nicely. I also enjoy sew clothing with knit, cotton, wool, and silk fabric. I recently began sewing infant hooded jackets. Fun! I have superior writing skills and will assist clerical or academic needs that arise while children are sleeping. I have worked for many years as a maternity RN and have a valid RN license.
