Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai'i, I moved to the bay area in 2017 to continue my education and play soccer at the collegiate/semi-professional level. During the duration of that time as a full time student, I also needed a 40 hour work week to continue to live and survive here in Palo Alto. I took a part time job taking care of two children in the afternoons (at the time 8 and 11) and worked as a paraeducator in Atherton at a lower elementary school where I found a passion for working with kids. As this took care of me during the four years I was in school, I eventually graduated as a Medical Assistant from a program local to Menlo Park. It was a great accomplishment but also meant that I would be working fulltime as a medical assisting at a local hospital (I have Read more applied to Stanford, Kaiser, PAMF etc) so I am no longer able to work with kids. As my passion and heart grew for students and kids, I decided to take a chance in looking for a partime, afternoon job where I could support, care for and be a mentor for a family that needed the help and whose values aligned with mine.
