Hello! My name is Sarah and I absolutely love working with kids! I just graduated with my Bachelors degree in Child and Adolescent Development from CSUF. My experiences working with children include babysitting, working in my church’s nursery, and the after school district childcare program. I have worked with infants all the way up to age 12 in multiple settings. I am currently a special education instructional aide where I assist children with classwork activities and their individual IEP goals. I work with children in both mild to moderate and moderate to severe classrooms. My main priority is making the children I work with feel safe, heard, and cared about. I practice this by getting down to their eye level when I speak, validating ALL emotions (even the scary ones), actively listening, asking them questions about their interests, and responding to situations in a calm manner. I also think it Read more is important to keep things FUN! I always show up to family’s homes with developmentally appropriate games and crafts to do with their kids! Some of my favorite activities to do with children are painting, outdoor obstacle courses, baking, sensory play, and crafts. I am a hands on and active caregiver, meaning I love to engage in the activities and conversations. Thanks for reading my bio and I look forward to meeting you and your family!
