Esmeralda had just started with us for 3 weeks and my 18 month old had was not bonding well with her. Although he wouldn't let her hold him, touch him without fussying/crying, she seemed attentive and we wanted to keep trying to see if he would bond over the next month or two. Instead, she called on Sunday to put in her notice and told us she was not happy because our son was not taking to her like she expected. Well, 3 month and 6 month old babies are very different and they will bond but you have to give an 18 month old some time. Anyway, she said sorry for the short notice and she didn't want to be unprofessional or leave us if we needed help. I said yes, we could use her help till the end of the month which she gladly agreed to. Monday morning comes around and instead of coming to help, she text that she will no longer be coming but sorry. I wish she would have tried a little longer before giving up and getting her feelings hurt. I would think a nanny around kids would understand they need time and I wish she would have kept her word. Very unprofessional and now my husband and I need to take turns calling in sick until we find a replacement.
