I graduated from UC Davis in 2016 where I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Developmental Psychology as well as a minor in Education. I have finished about 8-10 UC Davis upper division classes related to the development and psychological well being of infants, children and adolescents, this is in addition to the numerous lower division classes related to Child Development and Psychology at my previous community college. I can provide transcript records for both schools and all classes. I've been caring for children of various ages in different settings for over ten years now. I began by babysitting at the age of eleven and soon thereafter I was introduced to an in home licensed family day care. I helped there for years, learning how to effectively care for multiple children of varying ages. Around the age of 18 I became employed for a family portrait Read more studio spending my days trying to get little ones to smile and laugh. I've volunteered for a few months in a child care center located within a drug rehabilitation center that served at risk children. I've also had the amazing opportunity to accompany and guide underprivileged children as they shop for their families for the holidays. Then, from December, 2015 to June, 2016 I was given the amazing experience of working in the same kindergarten classroom that I myself had once been apart of as an eager five year old learner almost twenty years prior. For the next seven months I worked with 24 of the most truly wonderful, curious, and hard-working kindergartners that I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I was able to put into use so much of what I had been learning about in school and could watch as the children transformed right in front of me. I guided them as they searched for answers to the hardest of problems. I encouraged them when things started to get difficult and they felt they couldn't continue. I observed in amazement as they became entranced by whatever was capturing their minds. I picked them up when they fell and hugged them when they cried. I comforted them when they were nervous or anxious or uncertain and I stood back to watch when they felt as confident and strong as I knew they really were. The opportunity to be a positive part of each and every one of those child's life is something I wouldn't trade for the world.

Great with the kids. Loves to interact and do projects which is great, however she does not clean up after them. She ultimately quit because I asked her to please make sure she adequately cleaned up after the projects aka don’t leave small pieces of plastic containers and cups and baking soda residue all over the back patio, table and smeared on the floor in the house. A little background... Because the cleaning up had been an issue in the past, I had asked her not to do messy projects on the day our gal was coming to clean the house. She cancelled a few hours before she was supposed to come watch the kids stating that our ideals were different. This was unprofessional, juvenile, and really put us in a tough spot as I was already at work. I also never said stop doing projects, the kids love the projects. I simply asked her to be responsible for cleaning up after herself and to not do a messy one on the day I was paying someone to clean the house. I feel this is basic adulting. I was always taught when I babysat that you leave the house in better condition then when you got there. After working a 12 hour shift, who wants to come home and clean up after everybody? Moral of the story is, if you want your kids to do fun projects and you don’t mind cleaning up after, then she’s your girl.
