I come from a very large Polynesian family. I've helped raise my nieces and nephews from when they were just newborns. As they have grown over the years, I still assist my sisters with the essentials such as dressing, feeding, dropping/picking up from school, and also picking/dropping off to different sports or extracurricular events. I am currently a graduate student at CSU Sacramento studying Public Policy and Public Administration. I am originally from Sacramento but went to San Diego State University and studied International Security Conflict of Resolution and Criminal Justice with a minor in Counseling and Social Change. When I lived in San Deigo, I volunteered at our on-campus Children's Center helping with outdoor activities, naps, preparing snacks, and arts and crafts. I volunteered with the YMCA to host events that gave back to the community with kids being the main focus. In addition, I watched my boss's baby Read more my last semester (Spring 2016)r in college since I only had one class. The baby's name is Charlie. I watched Charlie 5 days a week from 8am-3pm. Charlie was about 3 months old when I started. I watched Charlie till she was about 7/8 months old before I moved back to Sacramento for my Master's Degree. I changed diapers, dressed her, fed her, played with her by reading books or toys. I also cooked pre-prepared dinner while watching Charlie. There were always ups and downs but I enjoy growing and learning with children. Currently, I tutor middle school students that may need help with their assignments or projects from school. Working with middle school students opens my eyes a lot. Although times they might be a handful, I believe it's apart of the learning process for teens. Being a tutor my goal is to help encourage them to stay on the right path and enhance their skills. With these students, we provide snacks, plan activities and games, and help with school.
