First off, thank you for taking the time out to read a little bit about myself! My name is Aman, and I am a 27-year-old student who graduated a few years ago from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from SF State. I hope to be a labor/delivery or pediatrics nurse in the near future! I'm empathetic, friendly, and love to make people laugh. When I am not in school, I enjoy volunteering at a local hospital as a doula, hiking/ enjoying nature, and spending time with my family & friends. But most importantly, I love the little ones :) I am constantly around kids whether it be family or the children in my neighborhood. What I love the most is getting to really know their individual personalities, likes/dislikes, interacting with them on Read more a personal level, and watching them evolve! I got my start with providing childcare during my teenage years, by working with my grandmother at her daycare job and soon became very hands-on and proactive with the basic needs of the children there. Around the same time, I volunteered at the Daly City Family Crossroads Homeless Shelter on and off for about 2 years. During my time there, I would assist the children (ranging between the ages of 2-16) with their daily art activities. Doing art with them was so special because it really showed how diverse each and every child was. Ever since those first couple of childcare opportunities, I have truly enjoyed my work of babysitting/nannying/tutoring throughout the Bay Area, which I have done for about 8.5 years on and off (summer 2012- fall 2020). Two different jobs were for 2 extremely sweet elementary and middle-school-age boys, with special needs, for whom I was a nanny/tutor. Another job I held was for two young boys (ages 3-5) who needed weekend care. More recently, I provided daytime care for 3 sweet girls (ages 6, 4, and 2 months) as a part of my nursing school clinical requirement. I landed all of these jobs through Sittercity and they taught me valuable lessons and skills that I use in childcare today. I hope I can be of assistance to you and your family. I will gladly provide references upon request. Thanks again :)
