Hi! My name is Destiny Melendez, and I’m a college student and student-athlete at San Bernardino Valley College. I have a genuine passion for working with and caring for children, and I’m currently studying psychology with the goal of becoming a Child Life Specialist. I come from a big family with 9 siblings, so caring for children and being around kids has always been a big part of my life. I have about three years of babysitting and childcare experience with children ranging from infants to 11 years old. I’m comfortable caring for multiple children and enjoy creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment through games, crafts, puzzles, outdoor activities, sports, and other age-appropriate activities. I’m also a Certified Nursing Assistant and have First Aid and CPR training. My healthcare background has taught me how important it is to be patient, attentive, compassionate, responsible, and calm under pressure. I also Read more have some experience in RT, which has given me additional exposure to healthcare and caring for others. As someone who wants to become a Child Life Specialist, I’m especially passionate about supporting children’s emotional, social, and developmental needs. I want every child I care for to feel safe, comfortable, listened to, and cared for. I’m dependable, energetic, patient, and always willing to communicate with parents and follow their routines and expectations. I would love the opportunity to help your family and become someone you can trust to provide your children with safe, caring, and positive experiences!
