My name is Crystal Alonzo Lerma, and I am a 21 year old college student aiming to receive my AS degree and Early Childhood Education certificate. I have been working with children ever since I was about 9 years old. My mom used to take care of children in our home, and one day I just decided to start learning how to take care of children as well. I started off learning how to take care of a newborn baby and learned all the basics with the help of my mom of course. Throughout my teenage years, I continued to help my mom take care of children in our home as well as being involved in a Child Development program at my own high school. I was in my high school’s Child Development program for two years, and started learning more about how it feels like to be in a Read more preschool environment. During this time, I also helped tutor a few elementary students with their English comprehension and a bit of math as well. After I graduated high school, I continued on with my education by going to community college and pursuing an Associate’s degree as well as my ECE certificate. I have continued taking classes on learning how children develop overall and how to create my own curriculum that can help children develop in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. I’ve helped families with children from age’s newborn to about 9-10 years of age. I am currently looking for a full time job for the rest of the Fall 2016 semester, and possibly going onto Spring semester. I believe that I am a caring, loving, and understanding young woman who enjoys helping others. I also have some great references on hand that could be of great use.
