Hi there, My name is Libby, I am 27 years old, and I am currently working towards receiving my Masters in Education from National University. I graduated from a small liberal arts college called Stonehill (Easton, MA) in 2011 with a double major in Neuroscience and Philosophy. After graduation, it became apparent that my true passion was in education, and not in medicine. Since August, I have been working 1:1 with a 5 year old autistic boy in his classroom. He and his family are moving in late December, so I am hoping to find a regular nanny/babysitting job starting in the new year. Since I was old enough to do so, I started babysitting and volunteering with children. I worked as a camp counselor, volunteered in the pediatrics department of a hospital for six years, and taught swimming lessons to a group of special needs children. I was also Read more single-handedly responsible for the safety and well-being of 18 children of kindergarten age during an after school program in Hawaii. My love for life, zest for knowledge, and drive to always be the best person I am capable of being, makes me a wonderful role model for children of all ages. I am a caring and affectionate person who is extremely easy to be around and talk to about anything at all. I am also responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. I have yet to meet a child who didn't absolutely adore me! I have even been told by parents before that they were surprised how quickly their child who was normally very shy warmed up to me. I am very creative and enjoy doing anything artsy or craftsy in my free time. I also love playing the ukulele, testing out new recipes in the kitchen, spending time outdoors, teaching my bunny rabbit new tricks (I am an animal lover), and traveling to as many countries as I can. A few years back I taught English to children in Tanzania. It has always been very clear to me, and to those who know me, that my greatest purpose and passion in life if to work with children.
