The past six years I have worked with kids anywhere from 6 month olds to 15 year olds. I worked at the child development center on the army base in New Jersey, Texas, and now California. I Have been a preschool teacher for a few years and part of my job was being responsible for activities; which includes physical activity, arts and crafts, technology time, breakfast & lunch & snack, and fun games to play that help increase cognitive thinking. My job required me to know which kids need special attention, know which disorders they have, know the allergies, and know the medication needed daily or in case of emergencies. I have training in pretty much every area of child care because I worked on an army base. I worked with many kids that needed medication every hour and kids that have had mild to severe disorders. I have younger Read more siblings that I helped raised because my parents were always working, which helps with my experience with children. Over the past few years I volunteered at A Child's Place as a mentor and tutor as well. Although my major isn't along the lines of caring for children, it helps with knowing what to in situations that require medical attention. Overthe past few years I found that I love working with kids and hope to somewhat stay working with them. I also went to school to study kinesiology, public health, and athletic training so I have experience when it comes to injuries as well as treatment for sicknesses. I am CPR certified through American Red Cross and the American Heart Association, as well as first aid.
