Throughout high school, I volunteered regularly at Ronald McDonald House and spent my afternoons at the UC Davis MIND Institute, where I played with children with autism, Fragile X Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. In the evenings, I cared for children primarily age 5-10. I also tutored fellow high schoolers in chemistry and pre-calculus. I graduated from UCLA in June 2017 with a Bachelors in Human Biology and Society and minors in Public Health and Latin American Studies. As an undergrad I volunteered as a tutor for English second-language students ages 4-60 in the Watts and Baldwin Hills communities of Los Angeles, and I worked at the Undergraduate Writing Center as a Peer Learning Facilitator. Now I have my Masters in Epidemiology and am working for the Navy, but I miss spending time around kids and teens!
