Hello! I'm Addie. I'm 21 and currently taking a break from college (hoping to be a teacher someday!) to get some childcare experience. I'm the second oldest of six and, with my youngest sibling being 10 years younger than me, have been surrounded by kids my whole life. First and foremost, I consider myself patient. I've found that when kids are upset, the best way to calm them is to help redirect their energy. For example, if they're upset that we can't watch TV or go outside right now, they'll better co-operate with a positive suggestion instead of a hard no. "How about we play with your blocks instead?" If you help them along and give them time, kids will usually choose to do well. Secondly, I am creative. My hobbies include singing, building medieval instruments (through determination, I picked up woodworking for this!), and reading. I'd love to do Read more some hands-on activities with your kid. I am currently working with a toddler and as a respite care worker for an autistic first grader. I have availability long term for tuesday/thursday mornings up to noon, and am willing to consider weekends. I can do very early mornings + date nights too— just let me know your needs! I’m currently only working with vaccinated families. Willing to make an exception for medical reasons, but no other.
