3/2 Hi! I am semi-retired as a corporate trainer, special needs tutor/teacher, and volunteer for many foundations. I am not applying to the website, I am offering SAFE Tips below. These TIPS will help you be alert for whom you do hire as a sitter or nanny: #1, cheaper doesn't mean they are safer. If your child suddenly starts acting withdrawn or moody after they have been around your sitter, it's a caution flag to stop calling that sitter. Take a break from the sitter and see if they become happier or brighter - if so, then you made the right choice to stop bringing that sitter in. That's insight for you to protect your kids from pedafiles and abusers. #2, finding a truly trustworthy and safe sitter sometimes takes more time than you might have - try asking your work associates who they utilize for sitting if they don't Read more mind sharing that with you & then ask if they can call their sitter & see if they have a friend that they could refer to you -- that's a start #3, we as parents want to be sure the sitter does not say pretty and nice things while you are there and then change after you leave, right?! So #4, -- Put a video recorder with audio in areas of your home, and be honest with sitter that you are tape recording in your home - A person who thinks privacy is an issue, you may not want as a sitter. Offer to review with them before they go, offer a copy or delete. It's a great training tool if you work it out. #5 This is about children. I have been bonded 3+ times, numerous background runs for various contracts and very researched, super safe. Be sure you ask questions to your sitter to see if they are doing good in life because background runs don't ask those questions. If they seem closed off to share life in a healthy way, then you might need to rethink it. #6 Ask to see their ID & write down their information Many I paid to babysit, spoke nice & kind. ONCE, when My kids were toddlers, one day I came home for lunch, and the sitter had gotten a non-English speaking girl to take her place- she did Not ASK me! She had my kids locked in their room and pee saturated their toddler beds- I called 911 with the lady standing there, and she ran out-she knew the word Police. I called the service I used & they said they were so sorry- some services have TROLLs who target American families to hurt their kids - so don't believe a service just because they run background checks!! I hope this is a Valuable help for ALL & Saves Lives.
