Hello! My name is Amanda Vela. Since 2016 I have worked with infants up to middle school age children, and even in elderly care. I have been in San Diego since 2016 (retired military family), and have lived all over (Hawaii, Washington, Germany, Oklahoma). I am a second year teacher here to stay in San Diego. This past year I taught Kindergarten, and now I teach UTK. When working with children, I love to play music, play games, dance, create (draw, paint, etc.), really anything of interest to the child. In the past I have taken children to the beach and nearby parks as well. When babysitting, I mainly steer away from screens unless there is a special age-appropriate movie night. I am also very calm when speaking with children and do not raise my voice. If there are any academic needs, I have worked in classrooms from grades UTK-5th Read more and love to support strong reading and writing skills. I can support up to second and potentially third grade math with ease.
