I am a Master of Social Work student at SDSU looking to keep working with families during my summer break. I have previous experience in public health, educational, clinical, and international work. Currently, I work with children as young as 1 month old and as old as 17 in Tijuana. In my role, I engage in enrichment activities with youth, many of whom are recovering from traumatic experiences. Before starting my MSW program, I worked in middle and high schools where I taught lessons about boundary-setting, healthy relationships, and communication skills. Prior, I worked with toddlers and new moms developing parenting skills and birth planning. I will be working in an elementary school district starting in fall 2024 as part of my social work degree. In my program, I have learned about childhood development and family structures. I believe that childcare roles are precious opportunities to help children develop life Read more skills (such as conflict resolution), to express themselves through creative projects (from art to cooking to science), and to explore the world around them through the outdoors. Playing is a full time job, after all! I bring patience, empathy, active listening, and positive energy to my caretaking roles. I am happy to support children’s learning by helping with schoolwork, driving to extracurriculars, and finding ways to fuel unique interests during our time together. As the oldest sibling and cousin in my family, I am comfortable with multiples and also find so much joy in spending time with kids and youth. This role in my life also means I take safety and responsibility seriously. I am happy to pursue any certifications necessary to ensure the well-being of your children. I am hoping to spend my summer active and outside, and I would love to have some kiddos in tow!
