Wendy was our nanny for over 5 months for our 3 youngest daughters ages 3-5. She developed a preschool schedule for them which included the calendar, time, art, and letters. She also had them outside on their scooters and bikes for over an hour a day so they had fresh air and exercise. She arrived around 8am, made them lunch, and stayed through nap time until I completed my work. The intention was to have her for the entire year, but the Navy deployed my husband and we chose for me to leave my job so that the girls and I could relocate if needed during the pandemic.

Wendy has been watching our son since he was 4 months old. He absolutely loves her and will bounce up and down with excitement and reach for her as soon as he sees her. She is always very playful and attentive toward him, making sure he’s happy, stimulated, fed, and well rested. We definitely feel safe leaving our son in her care.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Wendy! We will be moving to the east coast and are very sad to be saying good by to her. Her kindness and love of children show the moment she walks though the door. Our kids run (or crawl) to her when she comes in the morning and miss her when she leaves in the evening. Wendy has been part of our family for the past year caring for our two kids. When she began, our daughter was 26 months old and our son was 3 months. She managed preschool pickups/drop-offs and took them for weekly swim lessons. Additionally, she brought them to the park, zoo, aquarium and a variety of other activities. She has cared for our children as though they were her own ensuring their happiness and wellbeing. Wendy has gone above and beyond the call of duty, checking for monsters under the bed, doing arts and crafts and taking them on beach adventures. She would also pick and drop off our older son from preschool as needed. We found Wendy to be honest, reliable and very pleasant. She has an easy going personality and was always willing to work with us to meet our families needs. We will miss Wendy greatly but since I am changing my work schedule, we no longer need full time child care. She not only provided loving care for our children, but she had a special bond with our pets! I strongly endorse Wendy and I think she will be a good fit with just about any family. Wendy has been our nanny for the past six months. She has done a great job of taking care of our 6-month and 3-year-old boys. She has all the great qualities of being a nanny including being very patient, kind, but also assertive when needed. She has been a great role model for the 3-year-old boy, teaching him manners. She knows how to play with children to help their development teaching colors, letters and numbers while doing puzzles and other play. She and my 3-year have had a great time engaging in imaginary play. She shows a good sense of humor even when things get a little difficult. Wendy also really loves babies and is very caring with the infant. Overall, she is a really sweet and able person.

Wendy has been a great nanny for our two kids over the last year, and will be a great asset to her next family. She primarily cares for our son during the day who was 7 mos when she started, and is nearly 18 months. Wendy truly enjoys spending time with children. She is patient, caring, and willing to take direction to keep your home running smoothly. My son smiles as soon as he sees her each morning, and my daughter gives her a big hug and tells her she loves her at the end of the day. Most days, Wendy also picked up my 4 year old daughter from preschool. If I have an early meeting, she’ll load both kids, and drop my daughter off. The preschool teachers are always complimentary of Wendy as well. She once took my son and attended a field trip to the beach with the class. Once I realized how helpful it was to have her start feeding them dinner before I got home, it became the routine. Usually she has kids music playing, my son is just finishing up (and wearing some of his meal!), and my daughter is working on her food when I come in the door. My husband typically works later than I do, so to have this head start on the evening routine has been a gift. She’d make a recipe that I had planned, warmed up leftovers, or make something she found in the fridge. While my son napped, she also helped with the family’s laundry, washing dishes and keeping the house tidy. She also did some grocery shopping about once a week. I asked that she never let us run out milk (which is no easy task)! More recently, she’s been taking Ingrid to swim lessons, and even did a mom tot class with my son. While it was hard for me not to be able to take them myself, I was really pleased that they were able to participate in these activities with Wendy’s help. We signed up for Sittercity not too long ago, looking for our first babysitter. We were very lucky to meet Wendy. She’s very reliable, punctual & has great communication. She was willing to meet us & our 16 month-old daughter first to see if we were all compatible. She was wonderful with our daughter on every occasion we had Wendy in our home. She’s the perfect fit for any family looking for a babysitter. I only wish she would be willing to move to Jacksonville to continue babysitting for us!
