Seeing my age, you may think "that's an old lady and I want a college student !", yet I ask you to consider that your children would not care about the age of their sitter if they had a wonderful caring (and "ageless") sitter like me! Children love me and I am like every child's "favorite aunt"...the aunt that lavishes them with attention and affection and wants to have fun with them on their level, with imagination and joy. Yet I have the maturity, responsibility, trustworthiness, common sense and life-wisdom that comes with life experience. I am thin, fit, energetic, upbeat and funny, and I desire to do anything in the home (tidying, food prep, errands, etc.) that helps parents better maximize and enjoy their own time. I spent 13 years (consecutive years) as the regular (weekly, 2-3 times a week) babysitter for one family of 3 children (firstborn boy Read more and two younger sisters) from the time of each child's birth (bottles, diapers, all infant/toddler care taking) through to these children entering their pre teen years (ages 13, 11, 9). Along the way there was imaginative play (indoor, outdoor); stroller walks; playgrounds; arts and crafts; hide and seek; lots of reading (me to them, and then they learned to read to me); homework help; and endless conversations about their lives and mine. I handled meal times (cooking for the children and they were fussy); bath times; dressing/undressing; preparing clothes, homework, papers for next day's school. For recent 4 years between July, 2015, through August of 2019, I was after-school sitter for 2 children - picking them up at school in my car (with room for 2 car seats in back) and taking them to activities or spending time with them at home till parents came home from work. I cooked them dinner and gave them baths and read to/with them. I have renewed CPR license as of January 2015. I know how to handle any/all "happy chaos" with children, and how to be responsible in any emergency. I know how to comfort children (and pets) and make children laugh. I like to teach children and I have many experiences and skills to teach. I am looking for part-time babysitting (to supplement income from consulting work I do from home office) and because I find more meaning in the nurture of children than working in an office. As of September 2019, I am available Monday through Thursday afternoons; some Fridays; and date nights any night of the week I am free. Thank you.
