My name is Jessica and I have approximately thirteen years of experience as a babysitter/nanny. For the past four years I have been living in New York where I babysat for two families regularly. Before that I was living in Chicago completing my Masters degree and working for a handful of families there part-time. I am just about to embark on a move across the country to the Bay area and to start a PhD program at UC Santa Cruz in the fall. I am looking for a family in the bay area who are looking for an occasional sitter. In addition to childcare, for three years I worked as a music teacher, workshop leader and curriculum coordinator for Girls Rock! Chicago, a music education camp for young girls ages 8-16. I absolutely love working with children and am very familiar with various kinds of alternative pedagogical ideologies including Montessori Read more and Waldorf education. As a sitter, I love being outside, taking kids to museums, making music with kids, drawing, painting, doing art, writing stories and acting them out, etc. Childcare is a passion of mine, and I am so grateful to be able to engage the creative and imaginative capabilities of children when working!
