From 2018-2019, I lived in Barcelona with a Spanish and Catalan speaking single mom with her young son. We supported each other while phasing out of a pacifier-dependency, toilet training, starting a new school and making a whole new set of friends. I found all of this very rewarding and learned how fun and important it is to be around kids. As a native English speaker, I adapted to a dynamic and energetic household and cooked light, mostly vegetarian, healthy dinners that adapted to their Mediterranean tastes. We each grew a lot and learned how important it is to be kind, loving, and respectful members of a family - having fun while making solid, positive memories to cherish.
