I am a longtime educator who worked extensively with preschool, elementary and middle school students and their families from 1994-2020. My relevant experience/jobs include but are not limited to the following: 1st- 4th grade classroom teacher and tutor; 5th - 8th grade advisor/ SEL (social emotional learning) teacher; K-4th lower school head; and K-8th curriculum director (K-8th). I have an excellent understanding of child development and am skilled at both identifying the unique needs of children and putting support in place to address potential gaps (academic, behavior and social). Also, I am a strong K-5th grade tutor who is engaging, playful, firm, appropriately flexible and loving. I am skilled at helping students find their voice and am creative and thoughtful in my work with them. Both students and their families value and appreciate my work. I am a newly self-taught home cook whose resume includes regularly eating out in SF’s Read more diverse restaurants 1995- present. In other words, I can prepare meals and snacks. I also have worked for Instacart and am a self proclaimed expert shopper and driver. I stopped working in schools in 2020 and am looking for part-time work that involves working with children. I am open to working with families in various capacities (babysitter, tutor, parent-education).
