I love engaging with the honesty, energy, and creativity of kids. I have experience with a wide range of ages from a wide variety of contexts. Most recently, I have been a nanny for an infant, four, six and eleven year old (with three different families). I have also sat on date nights for other ages. I grew up enamored with the Babysitter's Club book series and eagerly started looking after neighbor's kids when I became a teenager myself. Sittercity is what Kristy (my idol of the Babysitter's Club) would have dreamed up! I have also worked at a kid's summer day camp in Japan for two years with third and fifth graders. I love learning and spreading this love of learning. I studied anthropology, gender & sexuality studies, and dance & performance at Princeton before moving to the West Coast. I currently have a flexible schedule and am interested Read more in building relationships with Bay Area families with ad hoc childcare for parent date nights through to ongoing part-time nannying. I just dressed up as Mrs. Potts (from Beauty and the Beast) for Halloween, and I actually think she encapsulates my character quite well (motherly tendencies, with a strong sense of following through on responsibilities). I've been called the most type-A hippie you'll meet. In other words, I'm easy going, flexible and loving, and at the same time, very organized, hard working, and conscientious. I'm a glass half full kind of person. I grew up overseas (in Japan and Brazil), studied anthropology, and have travelled extensively (Tanzania, Europe and India), so I'm used to and love adapting to new cultures - I think that can include the different cultures of different homes. I look forward to adapting to how you care for your kids.
