Meet Schyler

  • Comfortable with pets

Hi, Im Schyler Hanzas! Schy works great too, I would describe myself as bubbly, fun, loving, kind, hard working, dependable, and I could keep going but I wanna describe my experience for you. I come from a really big family, I grew up alongside my cousins, babies and kids around the town. I like to say I started my childcare experience around age 9, but before age 13 I was mostly just helping out family members and friends for shorter periods of time. I have always been very responsible, which i think is why parents were comfortable leaving their kids with me when I was still a kid myself. Anyways, for true nanny experience, Ive been watching many kids as a job since I was 13/14. So coming up on 10 years now. I have watched many kids at once, the most at one time was 7/8 kids but that Read more was only for a wedding day. In terms of long-term gigs, at the start of covid, many people needed childcare and quick, so I took on watching 5 kids daily, a few times a week there was 6, and every once and a while they would have friends over, so it got up to 10 a few times. This was pretty easy since that many kids (ages 6-13) can more or less play together and entertain themselves. More of my responsibilities for this situation were obviously keeping them all safe and accounted for, but also cooking for them, helping with homework (since at the time everything had moved online), bringing them to practices and other places they needed to go, and of course the basics like cleaning up and doing little things to help the parents out with daily tasks. I am currently watching a baby, he is now 14 months but I started watching him at 4 months. I have good experience with babies as well as children. For the last two years ive picked up gigs watching babies from a few weeks old to a few months. I am very comfortable with babies. The only thing I would ask is since everyone does daily baby care different, a detailed conversation and or a list/note about how you like things to be done for your baby, would be very appreciated! As for pets and senior care: I grew up with pets, so I am very comfortable to begin with. I also walked and did pet sitting from the start of covid to about a year ago. So anything with pets I am more than happy to do! I don't have much senior care experience, but I am very willing to learn!! Household services I am very comfortable with, just leave me a list of what needs to get done!
