Hello, my name is Rain. I am currently an undergraduate student studying Kinesiology. I have taken a few classes about child development, and motor development across the lifespan with the goal to grow my experience with children and development. I am a passionate, genuine individual who values individual attention and awareness toward every child’s needs, with an open mind to criticism. I enjoy interactions and individual challenges. Outside of actively working with children, I enjoy breathing exercises, recreational volleyball, and performing simple cleaning tasks as therapy! In my leisure time, I also enjoy cooking simple foods. I am hyper-aware of specific dietary needs if notified. I also value quality time and commitment. I believe this mindset sets me up to be a person who dedicates more time and thought when executing a goal, or task, with genuine passion and care. My interactions with children and passion for childcare stems from Read more a genuine love for children. With all that is happening in the world, I believe children are the purest and most honest people that can exist! Growing up I was always fond of my younger cousins and was drawn towards their radiating dependency with no hesitation. Genuine smiles, tantrums, and crying are all moments I value and bring attention to. Just like how laughs and smiles are an expression of happiness and entertainment, crying and screaming are expressions of urgency, pain, sorrow, anger, or overwhelming emotions. From experience and other sources, I learned that being aware of these types of emotions creates more awareness and patience with children. Having the patience to try and communicate with children is also pivotal to ensuring a trusting relationship. In all these situations there is always something to learn and take away. That is why I love being a sitter!
