TLDR: ▪️ It is meaningful to provide care for kiddos while parents take time for themselves; I feel lucky to be welcomed into a family, trusted to watch over their littles (& mediums 😉), + able to make direct, caring impacts on future leaders ▪️ Since ~2000, I have experience with all ages, from premature newborn M+3 year old F to 13 year old twin F (13 going on 30 is no joke!) ▪️ I have multiple current references available, so please do not hesitate to email me or ask any other questions ▪️ Happy to do a meet & greet to ensure you & kiddos are comfortable! Longer "About Me": I am also the oldest child in my family, as well as the oldest grandchild, so looking after the flock was always second nature. I grew up in an incredibly family-oriented neighborhood of Seattle & began babysitting around the Read more age of 13 for a neighbors' 5 year old F (who is now a grown woman & someone I happily call a friend) + shortly thereafter adding other families in our three block radius as "date night clients", always prioritizing babysitting over hanging out with friends. Over summers 2003-2009, I nannied 60-70hrs/wk for (at the start) premie infant M+3 year old F. During the 2007-2010 school year, while receiving my undergrad at Santa Clara University, I provided after school pick up+homework help,+snack prep+transport to sports activities for twin middle school Fs. After graduating in 2010 at the height of the recession w/ a degree in Poli Sci, I continued to care for a few families on the Peninsula in order to maintain my youth & pay the bills 😸 In 2013, I moved back to Seattle for a "reset" & began working at a nonprofit that valued paying living wages+ only to the execs 😜. I quickly met a local family through Sitter City - cared for their toddler F while they enjoyed 2x/mon date night. They referred me to friends for 1x/wk date night coverage for their elementary aged autistic M. In 2018, I moved back to SF & lately mostly provide care for my friends' kids, giving friends a chance to be people other than "Mom"/"Dad" + through a community I am a member/advocate of, I met a family who has entrusted me to care for their 4 year old M's medical condition in their absence. My career for the last decade has been leading (technical) recruiting for bleeding edge tech startups. I'm considering a bit of a pivot given the climate & hoping to provide cushion for my wallet as I navigate uncharted waters. Have a cat of my own, & love all animals!
