Hi parents!( Avail is flexible ) Ive worked w/ many kids over 10+ years and have experience+training in the field of special education. In both home and classroom setting. I'm certified in CPR/FirstAid. I've been recognized as a childcare provider by the state of Ca Currently working with a regional center in the CA Department of Developmental Services as a childcare provider/ behavior technician. I have specialties in caring for children with developmental disabilities or special needs.. Especially on the autism spectrum. So I have a wide variety of knowledge. And hands on experience. But I also believe I can make a difference in how children are raised for example I don't use yelling or physical discipline. I like to turn everything into a lesson, give second chances, and talk to children. Even pull one aside if I need in order to not embarrass them. I lead by example and Read more respect them the same way I want to be respected.I enjoy being an advocate for children and teaching them how to speak up for themselves and making a comfortable space for them to open up and express their needs and wants. I am very familiar with coping and teaching emotional/behavior skills. Giving a child the time they need to calm themselves down. Or if they need space, I'll let them take a few mins as long as no one is getting hurt or destroying property. I have training in breaking up a fight or blocking physical outbursts. I will usually seperate whoever is involed. Then i will walk away and circle back to the issue when everyone is in a better head space. I like to introduce breathing exercises and meditation techniques. I try to make it short and fun for short attention spands. I'll make everything fun. I have a kid like imagination so I like playing and interacting. I come up with different diy crafts, games and ways to play like turn cardboard into an ice cream truck or make a water slide with a tarp. Make sensory things like moon sand or water beads. I'm very strong on safety and alert of the surroundings. Also teaching stranger danger early. I like to have open communication with parents. Having a conversation before and after to keep everyone on the same page. I will be honest and let them know how everything went and if something important took place. I need to have the children feel that they can trust me just as much. So I don't feel comfortable talking about the children infront of them. Hope this shows you a bit about who I am and my type of childcare. Thanks!
