Hello! My name is Tina. Majority of my past experience has been in the mental health field, primarily with children and teenagers. After high school, I spent some time volunteering at my local high school, working as a special education teacher's aide. I dedicated over 300 volunteer hours over the summer, working with students with autism, down syndrome, and other physical disabilities. In college, I was accepted into two internships. My first was working in an 24-hour locked mental health facility, where I was exposed to ongoing symptoms of variety of mental disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Simultaneously, I worked one-on-one with a high functioning 5 year old, diagnosed with autism, implementing the use of RDI (Relationship Development Intervention). After college, I worked as an instructional assistant, working again on a 1:1 basis with an 11 year old with autism, implementing the use of ABA therapy (applied behavior Read more analysis). I also have had experience working in a nursing home, providing 1:1 personalized activities for residents in intensive care. All of my previous job experiences have required fast learning, quick-thinking, and attention to detail, and patience; skills I have learned to further develop throughout such experiences. Most importantly, I fully enjoy interacting with people and take pride in helping people improve their heath and overall well-being.
