As a 5th & 6th grader I was recruited to help a 1st grade reading class. During university, I tutored 2nd grade and up at: a group home for 3 years, 2 different tutoring agencies for over 4 years, as well as privately. I learned to adapt to different learning styles and became an expert at motivating others. Though the bulk was upper division math, I tutored a variety of other subjects, study skills, and test preparation. I worked at a couple summer camps, including one in Japan. For 18 months, I helped care for my friends' 2 year old son, three year old twins, & five year old son. Until recently, I’d been a full time, live-in, nanny/tutor for 2 boys. I created work spaces that helped them stay focused during their distance learning, handled all tech issues, helped them with their homework, prepared healthy meals, and played many Read more sports and games with them. They were tested twice a month for Covid-19 and nobody had contracted it under my supervision. During college I received a swimming scholarship and was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor. I've participated in a wide variety of organized sports and can be helpful if your kids want to learn/practice any sport. All the kids I've worked for loved my ability to create fun things to do, all while keeping them safe. During all activities I instilled critical thinking, the use of the scientific method, and the art of negotiation. I love animals and have my own 18 year old Queensland heeler mix that I found and adopted. I can also provide references from 2 local families that I cat-/dog-/house-sat for. My US passport is good through 2023, and I lived in 4 other countries (Peru, Canada, Philippines, and Japan) for at least 3 months. I speak conversational Spanish, basic Japanese and fairly adept at learning new languages. I have a car, a clean driving record, and drove for Uber and Lyft for 10 months in the SF Bay Area--I quit in good standing. I’m rarely sick and live a very healthy lifestyle.

Trustline is California's official background check for license-exempt child care providers (i.e. babysitters and nannies) and the only authorized screening program in California with access to fingerprint records at the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and access to the California Child Abuse Central Index. The Trustline registry toll-free telephone number is 1-800-822-8490.

Pursuant to Section 1596.859 of the Health and Safety Code, parents have the right to receive information regarding any substantiated or inconclusive complaint about licensed child care providers.
