I relocated to Los Angeles, CA near Larchmont Village in the summer of 2020 after residing in Chicago for nearly 20 years, where I taught music and movement arts classes during the school year. I have experience working with families who use gentle parenting and a blend of Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori approaches in their parenting style. Cancellation Policy: My cancellation policy is case by case, as I want to be fair and sensitive to whatever seems reasonable under each cancellation circumstance. If I am able to find another job to replace the canceled job, I don't expect any compensation. Because I do turn down other work and also rely on the anticipated income earned from UrbanSitter jobs booked more than a week in advance, I typically request payment for 50% of the total hours for the cancelled booking (unless I am able to find another job to replace the cancelled job).

I can’t think of a time in my life where I haven’t been surrounded by children. Born the third of seven in Chicago, my love for “little humans” was inevitable. Throughout my entire life, I have been a childcare provider but more consistently in the last 15 years. My jobs have ranged from being a full time nanny to a one year old to a babysitter of 3. Hi There! I’m interested in caring for your child/children. I’m experienced with infants/toddlers and preschool/ elementary age children. It’s not easy to trust somebody with your child, but your little one will be happy and safe with me. I provide safe childcare; my references will vouch for me: they love me! I’m attentive to the needs of the children, and can adjust based on what is age appropriate. I do enjoy reading to young children, especially toddlers and pre school age children. Ive taught a few to read before entering kindergarten. I like using flash cards to teach colors, animals, shapes, numbers and the alphabet. Walks to the park, and enjoying the outdoors/nature is also fun.(weather permitting) INFANTS: happy to prepare bottles, feed baby, change diapers, and swaddle baby. I’ll wash all baby dishes, baby laundry, and keep the nursery clean and organized. TODDLERS: prepare meals/snacks, wash toddler dishes, keep play area clean. I am a warm, loving and compassionate person who loves children. I don't have any of my own right now, but I definitely see them in my future. I have about 27 yrs of experience. I just love, love, love, babies and children, and have worked with all ages, from newborns to teenagers! I have 15 units of Child Development. I have worked at a daycare and for LA and Pasadena Unified School Districts and because of this, I consider myself an infant and toddler teacher because I gained a lot of experience as one. I have a lot of fun and exciting age-appropriate learning activities that the children enjoy! I know and teach some baby signs and Spanish to the children that I work with. I also teach phonics and other pre-reading/reading skills along with sight words, digraphs, and blends. I also teach beginners addition and subtraction in a fun way! For me, being a childcare provider makes me feel like I’m making a difference in the kid’s life, adding to them by giving them attention, showing them they deserve to be loved, respected and taken care of. People often give me compliments on how patient I am with kids, and I always answer with “that’s because I respect the kids’ time”. They have their own time, and why hurry them when they’ll have a whole adult life to do that?
