Seemed alright on the phone but neither showed up to meet in person nor cared to let us know / cancel / reschedule either...

After a nice first interview I was positively impressed by her and decided to try her out for a permanent job that suited both her current afternoon job and my part-time needs. I paid for all the background checks (that is why you see a badge) and even though her references were not very strong she seemed to be good with my daughters. She did not show up on her first day and did not call or text. Then she texted back saying she had a family emergency. I asked her to please let me know ahead of time in case of emergencies but that I would her her a second chance and asked her to come again today so that I could be here for her first day. Again she did not show up, or texted or called. She claims to be responsible but I find this utterly irresponsible. Very unreliable. I should have not even considered her after she didn't show up once.

Trustline is California's official background check for license-exempt child care providers (i.e. babysitters and nannies) and the only authorized screening program in California with access to fingerprint records at the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and access to the California Child Abuse Central Index. The Trustline registry toll-free telephone number is 1-800-822-8490.

Pursuant to Section 1596.859 of the Health and Safety Code, parents have the right to receive information regarding any substantiated or inconclusive complaint about licensed child care providers. That information is public and can be acquired by visiting the California Department of Social Services' Internet Web site at "www.cdss.ca.gov".
