Hi! I'm Laura Tabb. I just graduated from Furman University, a small liberal arts university in Greenville, South Carolina. I have a degree in Health Science and throughout my four years in college, I learned the importance of being physically active and eating healthy starting at a young age . Creating healthy habits early is the best way to prevent a host of health problems later in life. Kids are very impressionable and the people they are surrounded by and the activities they grow up doing are more likely to affect the way they live their life in adulthood. I took a Human Development class where we learned all about childhood development, and I found it to be a fascinating class. I just moved to Santa Barbara hoping to start a new chapter of my life in a beautiful health conscious city. I have family in the area and a Read more connection to Westmont College through my sister who graduated from there in 2012. My hobbies include hiking, playing sports, running, cooking and baking. I started babysitting when I was in fifth grade for various missionary families in Uganda. Oh yes, by the way, I grew up in Uganda until I was fifteen and babysat for missionary families all throughout my time there. I loved playing games outside with the kids and had fun making healthy snacks for them. When I went off to college, I babysat for a family of three adorable rambunctious boys ages 7, 4, and 18 months. When I'd go home to Lakeland, I'd take care of my neighbors pets when they went on vacation. So I have experience both with children and household pets and feel comfortable being responsible for both. I worked at an after school program in an underprivileged school in Greenville, helping the kids with their homework, distributing snacks, and playing outdoor games that would incorporate physical activity into their day.
