Hi! My name is Michelle, I am 19 years old, and I'm currently starting my last year at SBCC before I transfer to UCSB . I moved to Santa Barbara from Orange County about a year ago to start fresh and be independent from my parents. I have taken this time to focus on school, my major is Psychology and I plan to minor in Early Childhood Development in order to fullfill my dream career of a child psychologist. I have taken all of the early childhood development courses SBCC has to offer and have learned all of the widely accepted childcare methods for children 0-12 years old. On top of this, I had the pleasure of having an excellent pre-school teacher as a mother. She has been working as a teacher since before I was born and I have observed her classroom on countless ocassions. I was raised in a Christian household and worked in my church's child daycare since I was thirteen years old. This included singing songs, coloring, naptime, snack time, reading, and playtime. I see childcare as a huge responsibility because I am aware how fast children pick things up and I take it upon myself to be a rolemodel to them.
