Hello Families! I am a compassionate, Masters educated teacher - turned stay at home mama. I am relatively new to living in Santa Cruz and I have found it to be such a wonderful place for families to grow and thrive. Meeting and serving your family in a care or tutoring capacity would be an honor, and something I am highly qualified to do. While I have always loved children, I discovered my passion for working with them when I became an elementary school aide after graduating college. I continued to work in education for the next 11 years, earning a Masters degree and teaching credential in 2016 from Northern Illinois University. Throughout my career I have worked with students ranging in age from Pre-K to middle school. I have taught students with special needs, gifted students, mainstream populations, and language learners. Each experience has deepened my dedication to the Read more welfare and development of children. Currently, I am living out that dedication in a more personal way, as I have taken a break from teaching to care for my son. He is a darling child who has given me a whole new perspective on child care and parent-teacher relationships. My husband (a fluent Spanish speaking Chilean American) and I (intermediate Spanish speaker) are attempting to raise him to be bilingual. He is under two and is already demonstrating an impressive hold on both English and Spanish. That is my not-so-unbiased opinion, obviously! If you are looking for academic tutoring, after school/evening care, or help on the weekends, I would be delighted to meet you and answer any questions you might have. These little ones are the future, and I feel that there is literally nothing more important than their wellbeing.
