I graduated Cal State Channel Islands with Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2011. While in school I took classes in child development, classes for individuals in society with special needs, and 2 semester of sign language. I have worked with children ages 3 and up, both as a babysitter/nanny, and as a camp counselor at Pacific Palisades Day Camp. I have also worked with Madeline, a 6-year-old girl with Down syndrome. I attended her ager school program with her twice a week for a year. I would help her with challenging activities, help her form new habits in creative ways, and help her adjust to the other children and her environment. I have a lot of patience and I am very comfortable working with children who have special needs. :) I have been a part-time nanny for two kids and picked them up from school, made Read more them food, played with them, helped with homework, and did light cleaning around the house. Having gone to private school for the majority of my life I have done hundreds of hours of volunteer work. I have worked a lot with children, elderly and homeless people. After i graduated I got a job in advertising, but found that my position was not satisfying enough. During the last few years I started a handmade jewelry company; it is my passion and heart. In my current situation, babysitting/nannying jobs would be the perfect fit for me. My schedule is very flexible as i work from home and make my own hours. I look forward to finding the right family to work with. :) I'm very personable and genuinely enjoy kids. I love talking with them and hearing their perspective on things/life! I am very creative and innovative, so your children will never get bored with me! Living a healthy and active lifestyle is very important to me. I am a patient, caring and very trustworthy person with strong morals and ethics. I thank my amazing parents for that :) Also, I love pets!! I have grown up with dogs my entire life, so I guess you can say I have 28 years of pet sitting experience as well! :)
