I feel that caregiving is in my blood. My great grandmother, grandmother and mom were nurses. (On my mom’s side) and my father’s side has several teachers. I was the 3rd oldest cousin in my family with 6 younger cousins to care for, play with, and organize. They followed me around everywhere. I reveled in the attention. I kept our meet band entertained with all kinds of outside games and sports. I would also direct plays for us to preform for the adults, in the evenings. When I had my 3 sons, I continued this “camp counslor” lifestyle, hosting huge weekly play dates for 10 kids to play on our farm. I made sure there was fun, food, safety and kindness.
