Hello, my name is Marisa. I am a good blend of fun-loving and patient. I love being playful to make children laugh, and enjoy playing outdoors, arts and crafts, reading books, and allowing young minds to use their imagination. I understand the importance of positive reinforcement, being consistent, giving proper instruction, and setting boundaries so that children can grow to their maximum potential. It gives me great joy to be able to have a positive impact on a young child’s formative years. Most recently, I have had experience caring for an infant boy from age six months to one year. His mother is now going to be a stay-at-home mom. Experience Included: provided full time child care, five days a week; devised a daily infant care sheet for reporting to parents; implemented a successful sleep training program, to include routine naps; maintain a continual dialogue to build vocabulary and cognition; Read more instrumental in infant reaching developmental milestones; took daily walks, read books, and played with age appropriate toys; prepared bottles and meals; laundry and light housekeeping; drawer organization. For the two and a half years preceding my most recent job, I assisted in the child care and development of two young children (boy and girl) which included the age range from newborn to 4 years old. Experience Included: part-time childcare, three to five days a week; assisted with bathing, bedtime routines, and reading stories; organized and planned creative projects; assisted in potty training; prepared healthy meals and snacks; assisted with outdoor activities, e.g., going to the park, riding a tricycle, playing baseball and basketball, and playing with water and swimming; played indoors, e.g., puzzles, box games, building blocks, and imaginative play – to include singing and dancing; transported older sibling to and from preschool; weekend travel with parents to provide child care; light laundry; helped prepare for parties Certifications: Child and Adult CPR and First Aid. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I have raised two beautiful children of my own, which I am proud to say graduated from Duke and Stanford Universities. Don’t let the fact that I am not “thirty something” fool you. I am energetic and can keep up with the best of them! My hobbies include cooking, gardening, concerts, exercising, reading, and Dodger baseball.

Marisa has been full time nanny to our nearly 1 year old for about 5 months (since he turned 6 mos). She has been one of the very best things that could have happened for our little boy. She loves him completely and has so much fun with him every day. She's prompt, professional and organized - she helped us establish feeding and nap routines and put together a convenient feeding/nap chart for us to print out. Every morning she arrives right on time. She walks around the house with our son and they say good morning to all the random animals in the paintings on our walls, then she sings and dances with him. Marisa pushes him all over the backyard in his little car every day. She has taught him how to hold his hand up for high fives and is helping him learn to wave hello and bye-bye whenever one of us leaves for work. He stacks blocks, rolls toy balls and smiles all day long thanks to Marisa. She is a young grandmother and yet she's in better shape than either of us and plays with him on the floor all day long. She has been 100% reliable (has never missed a single day of work!) and is very accommodating to our changing work schedules. Another huge bonus to hiring Marisa is that she is not an aspiring actress or just doing a side gig until the next big thing comes along - she's 100% committed to her job and will never leave you in a bind (our other friends have had trouble keeping nannies for that reason). We honestly can't think of anyone else who would take better care of our son. Her encouragement has helped him to hit every key milestone and he's now learning to walk after 10 months.
