Hello! My name is Diatriz Sofia, I graduated from Delta College in 2019 with an AA in Child Development/Early Childhood Education and followed with a Teaching position at The Campus Downtown where I lead a classroom of over 20 toddlers! During the Covid-19 classroom closures in 2020, I chose to transition to in home care as a Nanny where I cared for one newborn from 2 months old until 16 months old. I have over 10 years experience in a classroom setting as well as three children of my own, ages 19, 16, and 11 years old. I have completed three Infant/Toddler units as well as classes in Special Needs, Learning Differences, and Safety and Nutrition. I also have a work history in retail management which has been very helpful as well, allowing me the opportunity to utilize time management skills, daily scheduling and multi-tasking. I have a clean driving Read more record, reliable transportation, current immunizations (DTap, MMR, Tetanus) as well as a clean Live Scan report and CPR certification. I also speak, read and write in Spanish at an intermediate level. My teaching/parenting style is one of a 'facilitator', using a child led, interactive/participative method. I believe children learn best through their own exploration and inquisitiveness, and it excites me to help them reach each new milestone! I am very 'hands on', working with creative curriculum and floor play, and creating the safe and structured environment children need in order to flourish. I am a strong child advocate, compassionate and inherently nurturing. Your child's complete and overall well being will always be my first priority!
