My name is Kate and I am nicknamed the "child whisperer" by many families, because of my calming presence, uncanny ability to connect with children at a deeper level, ease in putting them to sleep for bedtime, and my ability to keep kids active while creating wonderful, fun memories with them. I understand your child is an extension of your heart, but you can’t be with them 24/7. So, when you’re not with them, it brings a great deal of comfort knowing someone else will love them and care for them, as closely as possible, to your own skills and abilities. Though I don’t have children of my own, I have 69 children whom I have happily taught and/or cared for over the years. I specialize in early childhood care, and my love of children, and teaching through play, has helped me acquire over 15 years of babysitting and nanny Read more experience. This includes children from 2 months to 12 years old, both typically developing, as well as children with disabilities (such as Down syndrome, learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and cerebral palsy.) In addition to having an immense amount of hands-on experience, I also have the background knowledge necessary to properly care for and teach children. I graduated from Tufts University with my Bachelor of Arts in 2010 (with a Major in Child Development), and again with my Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2012. I am licensed to teach Early Childhood Pre-K-2, with and without special needs, in Massachusetts; and I have obtained a preliminary license in California upon moving to Sunnyvale from Boston, in the summer of 2015. I have taught first grade, second grade, Pre-K, and will teach transitional kindergarten this fall at Discovery Charter School 2. I hope to bring my skills and love of children to your family for occasional sitting jobs, once or twice a week/weekend. Thank you for your interest!

Kate babysat my children occasionally for about 2 years before moving to CA. She was always on time and communicated exceptionally well both before and during the times she cared for my kids. She asked lots of questions to make sure she was well-prepared beforehand and sent me photos and videos of the things she did with them. Whenever I told my kids I had to get a babysitter for them, the first thing from their mouths was always an excited, "Can we have Kate?!?" She was the most expensive babysitter we used, but for kids that are THAT happy to be with someone else, she is well worth it! I highly recommend her and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
