Hello, My name is Joni! I teach arts and crafts in my home and provide light snacks! I am an Army Veteran, Mom and "Bubbie" to my two young grandkids! During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my former employer in La Jolla, CA. Instead of seeing the downside of it, I saw the silver lining! I decided to move back home and start an Art Workshop in my home. I'm originally from Wilmington and have family here and in Long Beach. My parents moved to Long Beach when I was six where I was raised. I am a self-taught Artist and Calligrapher, and I love to create, design, paint, sketch and write. A month before the Pandemic outbreak, I reconnected with my childhood sweetheart and we are now happily married. I began an Art workshop where my grandkids, nieces and nephews can come over and create their own work Read more of Art! My husband and I live in the historic part of Wilmington near Banning Park and the area is known for it's history of beautiful homes on a street lined with lush trees! Our home is over 100 years old and we have plenty of space for indoor and outdoor projects and activities! I provide all art supplies, and a light snack. My very first job was babysitting my newborn brother when I was 10, and I loved it! I've been watching children ever since! When I lived in San Diego, I decided to go back to school for one year to take art classes and behavior psychology. During that time I worked with a wonderful family and cared for their twin boys part-time. I also volunteered at their pre-school. Since returning home to Los Angeles, I have also cared for children in my home, including my own grandchildren. Teaching arts and crafts to kids has always been my passion and I hope that I can teach your child.
