Hi families! My name is Ben, and I'm a 19-year-old college student studying engineering at Northeastern University. I have a true passion for working with children, and my experience as a summer camp counselor has been incredibly rewarding. Currently I am a counselor for 5-9 year olds at the Maroon Creek Camp. Over two summers, I've had the privilege of being a sleep-away camp counselor for a group of ten energetic 11-12 year old boys. It was my responsibility to ensure their safety, well-being, and, most importantly, make their summer unforgettable. I also had the opportunity to be an educator in training at ACES, where I worked with 5-7 year olds. Taking them on outdoor adventures, such as trips to parks and hikes, brought so much joy to both me and the campers. What sets me apart as a babysitter is my young-at-heart personality. I believe in fostering a fun-loving, Read more adventurous, and engaging environment for children. Rather than holding their hand every step of the way, I encourage them to learn and explore independently, treating them with respect. I love to play games that I've learned from my camp experiences—ones that are active, inclusive, and create a memorable time for everyone involved.
